David Yarrow Photographer Introduces Exclusive YouTube Channel

Photographer David Yarrow wows fans with exclusive content uploaded to YouTube.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1966, David Yarrow is a renowned fine art photographer famed for documenting the natural world from new perspectives. Starting out as a photographer for The London Times, Yarrow’s later work, particularly that focused on conservation and largely completed in the last decade, has been career-defining.

Now, those keen to see more of the photographer’s life behind the lens can do just that on YouTube. Yarrow first started uploading behind-the-scenes clips to his channel back in 2014. The award-winning fine art photographer has since offered various exclusive insights into his life on the platform.

More recently, Yarrow has focused on sharing a series of videos charting his incredible trips to Africa, Southeast Asia, and the southern Atlantic Ocean. These videos include Penguins in South Georgia, Hippos of the Zambezi, and Orangutans in Borneo.

Penguins in South Georgia follow David Yarrow’s journey to the edge of the world, South Georgia, located in the middle of the southern Atlantic Ocean. With no flights to the island, South Georgia is accessible only via an 80-hour boat journey. “The beaches of South Georgia team with wildlife,” reveals the photographer, “and, as a result, the visuals are endless.”

Meanwhile, Hippos of the Zambezi sees Yarrow come face-to-face with one of the most dangerous animals in Africa. “I had full confidence in my guide and his safety instructions, but there were a few nervous moments,” he recalls.

Finally, and one of Yarrow’s various uploads from last year, Orangutans in Borneo tracks the photographer on a 2018 assignment in Tanjung Puting National Park. In addition to locating and photographing orangutans, he also used the trip to document the daily plight that they face due to deforestation and habitat loss – something that’s covered in more detail in his YouTube video.

Subscribers to Photographer David Yarrow‘s channel can also enjoy insights into the photographer’s fine artwork with the likes of Victoria’s Secret model Josie Canseco, male fashion icon David Gandy, and Game of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel.

In Focus, photographer David Yarrow’s popular new podcast delves further into the award-winning expert’s life behind the lens. Yarrow’s latest podcast episode, Amboseli, also corresponds nicely with the YouTube video titled Elephants in Amboseli. The episode takes listeners on a journey to Amboseli National Park in Kenya, famed for its elephants.

At the same time, Elephants in Amboseli tells the story behind Yarrow’s famous work, Space for Giants. Taken last year in Amboseli National Park, Space for Giants is a portrait of Craig, one of the world’s most famous remaining ‘big tuskers’ – a genetic elephant variation with tusks so long they reach the ground.

“I hope that images like Space for Giants emphatically make the point that the close relationship we have with the well-being of the planet is one to be cherished,” says Yarrow.

Listeners can tune in to episode five of In Focus, Amboseli, on numerous platforms, including Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, and Spotify. To watch Elephants in Amboseli, meanwhile, head to David Yarrow’s photography-focused YouTube channel to enjoy this and more than a dozen other exclusive uploads from the fine art photographer.
