MADISON, Wis– BioForward Wisconsin, the collective voice of Wisconsin’s robust and comprehensive biohealth cluster, representing more than 220 member organizations, is hosting the Wisconsin Biohealth Summit, this year live and in-person on Oct. 7 at the majestic Overture Center for the Arts, celebrating the resilience and creativity of the Wisconsin biohealth industry as it thrived through the challenges of the pandemic.

 

The annual Wisconsin Biohealth Summit is one of the largest biohealth events in the Midwest. This year’s theme, “Moving Forward Together: How Wisconsin’s Biohealth Industry is Leading, Adapting & Evolving,” will feature sessions including-

 

Additionally, for the first time, BioForward is inviting local students and postdocs from around Wisconsin to flex their communication muscles in the First Annual Biohealth Communications Competition. BioForward knows that not only is there incredible research going on throughout Wisconsin, but also dynamic and inspiring students ready to discuss their transformational work.

 

BioForward will also honor the 2021 Wisconsin Biohealth Award winners: Dr. Fred Lee Jr.—Hector F. DeLuca Scientific Achievement Award; Terry Sivesind—Wisconsin Biohealth Business Achievement Award.

BioForward has heard community feedback and knows that the community is ready to get back to networking and in-person meetings as long the event maintains a safe environment.  BioForward, working closely with the staff of the Overture Center for the Arts, has been closing monitoring COVID-19 restrictions in planning the event and will adhere to all CDC recommendations.  In addition to the event venue requiring attendees to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours at event check-in, other safety measures are in place including hand sanitizing stations, contact-less interactions, mask requirements, and reconfigured traffic to allow for social distancing.
