Prisons researching the use of new proprietary disinfecting technology

CHARLESTON, S.C. – A study published in April of 2020 looked at the risks of spreading diseases throughout United States state and federal prisons. It was found that the overwhelming amount of overcrowding, poor or no ventilation, close habitation and dormitory-style housing are all factors that can lead to the spread of infectious diseases. With this, many prisoners who work while incarcerated, earning an average of $0.93 per hour, are realistically not covered by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) overview, which can in turn lead to hazardous working conditions which can further lead to health issues over time.

Correctional facilities are now taking a look at a new disinfecting technology which is safe for prisoners to be near. The Paerosol MAG, or micro-aerosol generator, is a patented and proprietary technology which takes Paerolyte’s non-toxic and organic liquid disinfectant and turns it into a dry spray. The dry spray, which consists of sub-micron particles, allows the disinfectant to disperse throughout an entire enclosed space and kills up to 99.9999% of viruses, bacteria and mold.
