Australia, February 2025 – Australia, traditionally a nation in the Asia-Pacific with high GDP per capita and wealth has in recent years experienced an erosion of its standards of living for its people, workers and general population. This has been labelled “the cost of living crisis”. A separate but adjacent issue is the “housing crisis”. As its name foretells relates to a lack of access to homes for purchase and rentals, or an inability to afford such.
On 29 January 2025, Albert Jing, the Leader and Founder of the All Australians Party officially launched the party. A highly popular and what’s been described as brilliant speech by Mr. Jing was made public to mark the occasion. From the 22-minute speech, Mr. Jing sets out in very powerful and eloquent words his desire to act in the best interests of the people of Australia. With policies focused on immediately ending the cost of living problems, practical solutions to housing issues, and building up the “economic pie” as a whole to benefit all citizens. His vision of a united, prosperous and fair Australia is repeated and articulated with emotional passion. There is also reference to what is likely his medium or long-term vision of building the nation of Australia into a “world power for the first time” through a strong government under his leadership.
In seeking to address the problems which affect most of the population and unite people of all social backgrounds, Mr. Jing positions himself, as his party’s name already communicates, as a champion of the people. In both stated policies and speech, he comes across as one who can gain mass appeal.
Mr. Jing’s platform focused on the broad general population and people, grounded in meritocratic, social and egalitarian ideas, is also interesting given his own prestigious background. Having attended top Australian educational institutions, been a corporate lawyer and later CEO Founder of OneFriends. His unique ancestry is also very notable, being of Chinese (paternal) and very distinguished Manchu noble (maternal) descent.
The All Australians Party’s goals in many ways reflect issues and want for change that is not limited to only Australia. It is part of growing global unhappiness and mistrust of old existing political systems where those in power have either through policies or lack of leadership ability, been unable to solve key problems affecting a population. Young people in particular have a sense of being unrepresented and unfairly hit by issues created by past governments or generations.
Thus, whether or not a country can unite, may depend as much on new leadership values and someone the people can rally behind, as much as it has been divided under old leadership disappointments and deterioration.
Mr. Jing also has down-to-earth plans as well as inspiring speech, as shown through the party’s website policies page, on how exactly the cost of living crisis in Australia will be fixed. It includes strong and direct measures such as price caps and controls on major bills for households. It includes reducing the unsustainable “printing of money” and supply-side economic measures; as well as having the Australian Reserve Bank (equivalent of central banks) cut interest rates immediately for the benefit of pressured mortgagors.
