OK Bakery LLC Named Winner of the Quality Mark Business Excellence Award

How an authentic Ukrainian bakery from Chicago earned one of the most selective business distinctions in the national baking industry.

In the United States, reputation is everything. American consumers choose not just a product but a company they trust. That is why independent professional recognition carries particular weight, and why the Quality Mark Business Excellence Award in 2025 became more than a certificate for OK Bakery LLC. It became confirmation that Ukrainian ceremonial bread art has earned its place in the American market.

Oksana Kliuiko did not arrive at this result overnight. Behind her is more than a decade of work that began in Rivne, Ukraine, and by 2025 had resonated across American media, scientific publications, and cultural venues in Chicago.

The Quality Mark Business Excellence Award is an American independent professional recognition program based on a multi-level expert evaluation methodology. The program assesses companies on the criteria of professional mastery, innovation, consistency of results, impact on industry development, and business reputation. Evaluations are conducted by an Independent Expert Commission composed of specialists in the relevant professional fields.

During the 2025 award cycle, fewer than five percent of evaluated candidates received Winner designation. This figure reflects the competitive and selective nature of the program: recognition is granted only to those whose documented achievements substantially exceed standard industry practice.

For a company representing Ukrainian cultural tradition in the American market, this award carries special significance: it confirms that an original approach to ceremonial bread art meets the highest professional standards of the industry.

OK Bakery LLC did not appear in the United States out of nowhere. Before receiving the American award, the company already had a strong record of achievement. Its founder, Oksana Kliuiko, had earned more than ten international and national awards for her exclusive baking.

This was followed by publications in prominent newspapers, television, and radio appearances, interviews and features that gradually built recognition, first in Ukraine and then internationally.

Simultaneously, Oksana Kliuiko developed and documented her own original methodology for decorating ceremonial bread, techniques that have no direct analogues in mass production anywhere in the world. Her signature Korovai “Poliskyi” became a symbol of the Ukrainian national style: intricate hand-crafted ornaments, Polesian symbolism, and a level of detail that transforms each piece into a complete work of art.

In 2022, the original technology behind Korovai “Poliskyi” was officially patented in Ukraine and continues to gain popularity among Oksana Kliuiko’s followers and students.

After entering the American market, OK Bakery quickly gained recognition in the United States media landscape.

What is remarkable: the value of a single Korovai reached $1,000. A miniature replica of the Polesian Korovai was purchased for this amount at a charity auction in Chicago.

OK Bakery LLC combines several characteristics atypical for the American food market. First, it offers an entirely unique product, a traditional Polesian Korovai, which simply did not exist in the United States before this company. Second, behind it stands documented cultural heritage and an original school of craftsmanship. Third, the company actively develops the educational and cultural dimensions of its work, extending well beyond the scope of a standard food business.

Oksana Kliuiko says: “We never tried to be like anyone else. We simply did what we know how to do honestly, and it turned out that in America, this is valued too.”

The Quality Mark Award 2025 for OK Bakery LLC is not merely a business event. It is confirmation that even such a unique art form is capable of competing in one of the most demanding markets in the world.

For Oksana Kliuiko, who has devoted many years to this craft, such recognition holds special meaning.

“Korovai is not just bread,” she says. “It is a language. And it turns out this language is understood everywhere, regardless of nationality.”

For a company planning to expand and strengthen its position in the United States, this is further proof that the direction was chosen correctly. And for Ukrainian business as a whole, it is another example that cultural authenticity and entrepreneurial determination can become a competitive advantage even in the most demanding market in the world.
