Aging Reversal- Is it Possible?

Princeton,NJ/ 360prwire/ December 6/

Anyone from the age of 30 or so will be aware of the personal effects of aging. Aging can be seen in ugly wrinkles and lines upon the skin, greying hair, skin spots, hair loss and more. Aging can be felt in the weakening of muscles and the slowing of brain function. The question on the minds of many is, can the effects of aging be reversed?

The short answer is, yes. Some of the effects of aging certainly can be reversed. Obvious measures are things like Botox injections or the like, wherein a youthful appearance can be created on the face by smoothing out wrinkles. Botox also serves to prevent aging by paralysis of the facial muscles. Some prefer dermal fillers, that serve to plump up the skin a little to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, without muscle paralysis.

If you find the above measures too extreme, there are some simple things you can start doing to reverse aging (and some things to stop doing).

Stop Smoking

You’ve probably heard it a million times already but if you smoke, you’ll not only damage your long-term health, but you will also speed up the physical signs of aging. Smoking encourages your body to reduce the production of collagen- the protein responsible for healthy skin. Not only that, smoking discolours the skin and causes puckering wrinkles around the mouth. Pollution from cigarette smoke also serves to damage skin cells. Stop smoking today and you will likely see some serious aging reversal happen, particularly on your face.

Start Eating Healthily

A healthy and well-balanced diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables can do wonders for the human body, inside and out. Foods like oranges, avocados, bananas, nuts, kale, and sunflower seeds, contain vital vitamins and minerals for anti-aging. A nutrient-rich diet will also help you feel more energetic and youthful from the inside. Vitamin C in particular serves as an antioxidant, fighting free radicals that damage our cells, as well as increasing collagen production that improves skin firmness and elasticity.

Stop Unprotected Tanning

Ultraviolet rays from the sun and tanning beds will seriously speed up aging in your skin. Use sun protection every time you are exposed to sunlight to stop unnecessary wrinkles and sunspots from developing on your skin. Some experts will attest that as high as 80% of all skin aging is a result of sun damage.

Start Exercising Regularly

Try to exercise most days. Exercise can not only delay the decline of brain function, but also can help you feel happier and more energetic in general. Exercise improves circulation and this keeps skin looking healthy and bright.

Stop Binge Drinking

Too much alcohol on a regular basis is bad for not only your health but also your complexion. Alcohol dehydrates the skin, causing damage that makes you look old.

Start Being Nice to Your Skin

Wash your face gently twice a day and always after heavy sweating. Scrubbing, itching, picking, build-up of dirt, and perspiration, all serve to irritate the skin. Irritation, in turn, leads to poor skin texture and appearance. Moisturising dry skin also helps it look as young and plump as possible.
