Paula Bullock Now Successfully Adopting out Over 8,000 Pets Annually via Nonprofit Animal Rescue

Animal rescue founder Paula Bullock continues to lead the field as the name behind George’s Place Animal Sanctuary in Durham, North Carolina.

Adopting out more than 8,000 cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, and other pets every year, George’s Place Animal Sanctuary is a leading rescue and rehoming charity based in North Carolina. Established by veterinarian Paula Bullock in 2004, the organization is largely backed by generous donations, allowing Paula and her team to provide unwanted and abandoned pets with free veterinary care and transportation to loving forever homes across the United States.

“Thanks to the generous support that we receive at George’s Place, we’re able to rescue, assess, care for, and rehome thousands of pets every year, free of charge, sending them to new forever homes with loving guardians both locally and regionally, as well as across large swathes of wider North America,” explains founder Paula Bullock, speaking from the animal sanctuary’s headquarters in Durham, North Carolina.

Lifelong animal lover Paula Bullock has now been in the veterinary care and animal rescue field for more than 25 years. “I graduated as a veterinarian in 1993 and soon opened my own practice, also in Durham, which I named Greenwood Veterinary Hospital,” reveals Bullock. She would then, she explains, go on to establish George’s Place Animal Sanctuary around a decade later. “After handing over the reins of Greenwood Veterinary Hospital to dedicated new owners, I began working in other areas of medicine, and then established and incorporated George’s Place in 2004,” says the qualified veterinarian.

Overseen by Paula Bullock and her dedicated team, the veterinarian’s pet rescue facility—officially George’s Place Animal Sanctuary and Mobile Animal Care—is located on North Pointe Drive in Durham – a popular and bustling city in the so-called Research Triangle Region, celebrated for its wealth of technology firms and leading scholarly institutions. With public charity status and primarily supported by donations and other contributions, George’s Place Animal Sanctuary is one of a growing number of animal rescue and rehoming organizations located throughout the sprawling state of North Carolina.

“At George’s Place, we’re immensely proud to now be consistently rehoming in excess of 8,000 homeless cats, dogs, and other pets annually,” says Paula Bullock, “providing them with free veterinary care and nationwide transport at no cost to loving new homes where they’ll happily spend the rest of their days.”

Celebrated for her work as a leading veterinarian and nonprofit animal rescue founder, Paula Bullock happily resides in Durham, North Carolina, with her family, close to George’s Place Animal Sanctuary and Mobile Animal Care’s headquarters on nearby North Pointe Drive. When she’s not busy with her professional and charity work, Paula and her family enjoy spending time outdoors, embracing a wide array of hobbies, including a variety of both water and snow sports, such as wakeboarding, skiing, and snowboarding.
