Maryland University of Integrative Health Announces Educational Partnership with the American Institute of Stress

Laurel, Md. – Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH) is pleased to announce a new collaboration with the American Institute of Stress. MUIH and the American Institute of Stress have entered an educational partnership with the shared goal of promoting strategies for coping with stress; a health concern experienced by 55% of Americans according to the latest annual Gallup Poll on stress.

This collaboration expands MUIH’s role as a leader in integrative health, including the use of holistic and natural approaches to promote well-being. MUIH’s Professional and Continuing Education (PCE) Department offers a wide range of professional development courses in a hybrid format that provides the flexibility for the public, and healthcare professionals with the opportunity to sharpen their skills, develop new areas of expertise, and earn additional credentials.

“MUIH’s Professional and Continuing Education program is pleased to be certified by the American Institute of Stress to provide educational opportunities for health and healthcare providers to support clients and patients who are coping with the negative impacts of stress to improve their wellbeing,” said Beth Romanski, director of professional and continuing education at MUIH.

Will Hickman, executive director of the American Institute of Stress, said, “In its continued effort to help people transform stress through awareness, education, and collaboration, we are happy to announce a new educational partnership with Maryland University of Integrative Health. The American Institute of Stress

The American Institute of Stress is a non-profit organization established in 1978 at the request of Hans Selye to serve as a clearinghouse for information on all stress related subjects. Other founding members included Linus Pauling, Alvin Toffler, Bob Hope, Michael DeBakey, Herbert Benson, Ray Rosenman and other prominent physicians, health professionals and lay individuals interested in exploring the multitudinous and varied effects of stress on our health and quality of life. In addition, AIS was formed to function as an ombudsman in this rapidly expanding field where a plethora of extravagant claims for worthless devices, nutritional products and approaches threatened to drown out legitimate research efforts and advances.
