For the tenth year in a row, we have jointly announced the publication of the Best Law Firm Rankings.
To be included in the ranking, a law firm must have at least one lawyer in the top 10 percent of the top 100 law firms in the country. Companies, including companies in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, New Jersey and Washington, D.C., have consistently received impressive reviews from customers and colleagues for their professional excellence. To be included in this ranking, companies must first have a lawyer recognized as “Best Lawyers in America” (C), which recognizes attorneys working in one of four categories: law, business, legal practice, public policy, or law enforcement.
The best lawyers are the best lawyers in the country, according to our service, which ranks lawyers on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest and 10 the lowest.
For more than 30 years, Best Lawyers has been helping those in need of legal advice by identifying qualified attorneys to represent them in all aspects of their case.
Only the lawyers recognized in the current issue of Best Lawyers are able to make recommendations, allowing lawyers who have already been recommended to bring other lawyers on board, including those who have not yet been recognized. Five percent of U.S. attorneys are recognized as “Best Lawyers” in the Lawyer Directory, which is less than half of the millions who are in private practice at any given time. Lawyers do not need to be classified by US News and Best Lawyers for a new page to appear on the legal directory, but they do need to have a recommendation.
In order to be a “Best Lawyer” for the first time, a law firm must have at least one lawyer and be among the top 10 percent of all law firms in its field. The new award is not an attempt to classify lawyers, but a recognition of a recognized legal leader who adds weight and visibility to a lawyer’s profile, “said John D. It is based on a rigorous evaluation process that includes interviews with leading attorneys as well as additional information provided by the firm as part of a formal filing process.
US News and Best Lawyers select their top ten lawyers from a pool of more than 1,000 lawyers from the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Spain and the United Kingdom, as well as from around the world.
The ranking, which identifies the best practising lawyers in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Germany, France, Italy, Japan and Spain, is based on peer review of the quality of their law firms “lawyers. We also include assessments of lawyers and law firms based on peer reviews to help you choose between two equally qualified candidates.

Before appointing a lawyer, contact your state’s disciplinary authority to confirm that he or she is a member of the bar. You can also consult a directory of lawyers with disciplinary authorities online in the database of the American Disciplinary Bar Association.
Published since 1983, Best Lawyers lists attorneys in 146 specialties representing all 50 states, selected from thousands of the nation’s top attorneys who have been evaluated confidentially by their professional colleagues. This list is an extract from the 2020 issue of Best Lawyers, which is based on a survey of more than 1,000 attorneys in the United States.
The methods for compiling Best Lawyers have remained unchanged since the first issue nearly 40 years ago, with the exception of some changes to the ranking methodology.

Best Lawyers in America list in Immigration Law, Best Lawyers of America (c). To qualify for this ranking, a firm must have first-hand attorneys who are recognized as members of Best Lawyers inAmerica (r) and / or a Best Lawyers (c) recognized attorney who recognizes attorneys working in at least one of three areas of legal practice: immigration, civil and criminal law. The “Best Lawyers” and “Best Law Firms” are recognized by a press release issued by the “Best Lawyers” Organization “or Firm with the name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and other information of the Firm.
Best Lawyers Amercia’s ranking is based on a rigorous evaluation process that includes interviews with leading attorneys and additional information provided by law firms during the formal filing process. Best Lawyers in America list in Immigration Law, Best Lawyers of America (r) was selected by Shareholder John, who heads the firm’s immigration, civil and criminal practice in the United States and Canada.
