Bus Accidents are Common in New Mexico

The Department of Transportation stated in a report that each year 377 bus accidents take place in New Mexico. Most individuals are likely to experience significant injuries in bus crashes owing to their size and lack of seat belts.

Research shows that each year there are 14,000 injuries and almost 300 fatalities because of bus accidents. It takes an experienced passenger bus accident attorney to claim compensation from all responsible parties.

Most Accident Causes are Preventable

Virtually, all factors that may contribute to a bus collision are preventable. This involves enforcing safe hiring practices and training drivers thoroughly. Most accidents will not occur in the first place if companies exercised safety.

Almost all accidents occur because of negligent or inadequately trained bus drivers. Other common factors include DUI, lack of safety restraints, and poorly maintained buses. Bus companies often ignore maintenance issues to increase profits. Passenger bus accident lawyers can make sure that the cause of the accident is portrayed in the best light so as to maximize compensation.
