Here Are a Few Ways You Can Prep for Your Winter Getaway at the Beach

The winter is coming and Coronavirus restrictions have been lifted. If you’re planning a winter getaway at the beach, you may have a few things to do before you hop on your flight. It may have been a while since the last time you’ve gone on vacation. If not, you may be an avid planner, which is probably one of the best qualities to have. In order to be prepared for your upcoming beach vacation, there are a few things you can do to optimize your travel as well as your stay to have the best possible vacation. Here’s a list of things you can do to prepare for a beachy getaway, from getting to the airport, to looking and feeling your absolute best during your stay.

Packing

While packing for a trip, a lot of people tend to throw whatever clothes they think they may want to wear into their suitcase and call it a day. If you want to pack efficiently, there are a few things to take into consideration: how long you will be away, outfits (including shoes and accessories), and toiletries. Make sure you plan for each day of your trip, including your last day and an outfit to wear on the plane for your flight back home. If you are going for five days, pack six different outfits (just in case something happens to one of them). If you plan on going out in the evenings, pack 5 separate outfits for evening events. Your outfits should include underwear and accessories, shoes, as well as the main articles that make up your outfit. Also, apart from outfits, if you plan on going to the beach, don’t forget bathing suits!

Toiletries include your toothbrush, toothpaste, hair care items, shower gel and other products used in the shower and to cleanse your skin and face, and makeup. One of the main things people forget about while packing, is an outfit (and comfortable shoes) to wear on the flight back. Don’t forget this one!

Here are a few other things people often forget to pack for a trip: headphones, chargers, sunscreen, sunglasses, things for work (oops), passport, ID, camera. Be sure not to forget any of these things (if you need them).

Transportation

This is a quick and easy step you should take beforehand, rather than ordering a last minute cab to the airport. Be sure to schedule your transportation to and from the airport, at your starting point, and at your destination. It will spare you the hassle of having to deal with it at the last minute when you’re stressing to catch your flight in a timely manner.

Pre-vacation beauty preparations

We’ve all been there – getting ready to go on a nice beach vacation, and still not feeling super confident in that cute bikini we bought exclusively for this one trip. It’s normal, and honestly, you could just go the way you are because chances are you look absolutely fine and beautiful. If however, you do want to make a few adjustments and have the time to do so, there are a few things you can do to add a little bit of definition to your beach body, and get that glowy skin you want to shine in your vacation photos. Depending on how much time you have, there are a few things you can consider. When it comes to your beach body, a little bit of definition isn’t hard to come by as long as you have 3 or more months to work with. You can definitely hit the gym and be strict with your diet for three months, with some pretty good results (as long as you are actually consistent and disciplined with it). If you don’t think that you will be, or if you know you will be and want to add an extra kick to your results, there are some (non invasive) cosmetic treatments that can help you reach that goal of losing a few inches and adding some definition to your abs. One of them is cryolipolysis, which is a cosmetic treatment designed to eliminate unwanted fat through cryolipolysis. Coolsculpting is essentially the process of freezing fat cells, killing and permanently eliminating them, and is described in great detail on this website. The session itself is only 35 minutes to 2 hours, but the results may take 1 – 2 months to show, which is why this is a treatment that you should plan on getting about three months before your vacation. You can pair this treatment with CoolToning or EmSculpting, which are non-invasive tools used to contract your muscles for you, resulting in more defined abs, thighs, or glutes. For this treatment, you may need 4 – 6 sessions to see good results, which will take about 2 weeks. These procedures are minimally invasive and can be acquired at medical spas, which are located almost everywhere especially in larger cities. Because this isn’t plastic surgery, you can get these treatments at medical spas, such as Skinly Aesthetics, that offer exclusively minimally invasive treatments.

For glowing skin during your vacation, be sure to hydrate properly, eat clean foods, and avoid applying too much makeup 1 – 2 weeks before your trip. While these are simple steps that you can take, they can make a huge difference in only two weeks.

Airplane must haves

Lastly, depending on the length of your flight, you may want to prepare for a long one. Some things you may want to consider bringing are books, notebooks, a playlist on your Spotify, and maybe some puzzles such as Sudoku or word games. Sitting on a plane can get pretty boring, so make sure you have something to entertain yourself.

When planning for a trip, there are a lot of things that may be running through your head, meaning that sometimes, it’s easy to forget the most important things. Rather than throwing 20 pairs of underwear in your suitcase, the best way to plan ahead is to write a checklist and carefully go over it before you zip up and leave.
