Microsoft Excel 365 has a lot of great formatting features to make your charts look sharp and more professional. As students learn how to use these features to their advantage, they can produce elegant-looking documents that will communicate their source data in an effective manner. Gridlines
Gridlines are used to visually distinguish changes in values on an Excel Chart. Adding Gridlines to Excel charts is fairly straightforward, all you need to do is to toggle the horizontal or vertical gridlines on or off in the Chart Elements menu.
Trendlines
Trendlines are great for showing movement in your data. They can visually demonstrate trends in your data over time and can easily be implemented in an Excel chart. Adding and removing Trendlines on an Excel chart is also a straightforward process, all you need to do is to toggle the trendline option on or off in the Chart Elements menu.
Data Tables
Data Tables are a cool feature of Excel charts. They can be added to charts to highlight the source data in conjunction with the visual chart and can easily be implemented in an Excel chart. Data tables allow you to pack a lot of useful information into a single chart graphic. Adding a Data Table to an Excel chart can be accomplished by toggling the Data Table option on or off in the Chart Elements menu. You also have the option to add and remove legend keys, in the Data Table submenu.
Chart Filters
The final item we will look at today is Chart Filters. Chart Filters are a useful tool for highlighting specific parts of your data in a chart. You can focus in on specific information from single or multiple data fields. Adding and editing Chart Filters can be completed by activating the Chart Filter table and then configuring the fields that you want to display.
