NachoNacho: A Rapidly Growing SaaS Marketplace

A San Francisco startup has launched a new marketplace for software subscriptions, aiming to fill a gap in eCommerce solutions for companies looking for one place to search for and find products for their business operations. Its name? NachoNacho.

Described as “THE SaaS B2B marketplace” (SaaS: Software-as-a-Service, software products provided on a recurring basis; B2B: Business-to-Business), this new hub features over 100 different products covering various industry needs from digital design tools to accounting and finance services. But the NachoNacho marketplace says that it is still constantly adding more to the mix, with an end goal of serving as ‘the Amazon of subscriptions.’

NachoNacho began from a chance meeting between Sanjay Goel (now CEO), an entrepreneur with decades of finance and startup experience, and Alan Szternberg (now CTO), a full-stack developer from a management and engineering background. Prior to the launch of the NachoNacho marketplace, the two had already worked to create and popularize an application for managing subscriptions. This app, and the user base it has generated, is fully integrated with the new marketplace and has proven a crucial part of the company’s business model.

For a unique idea, the two founders had to come up with a unique name: “NachoNacho” translates to “dance, dance” in Hindi, and it’s a reference to the action that Goel and Szternberg hope users will do to celebrate when they see all the money they save using NachoNacho.

Anybody can visit the NachoNacho homepage and browse the list of SaaS products available on the market so far, organized by category and collections. Each product has a separate page with information on its functions, a link to its main website, a description of the cashback rewards that come with its purchase, and more. And registered NachoNacho users can simply log in, click “Subscribe” on a product they find on the marketplace, and have it automatically added to their management account as a new subscription.

And one big draw for many businesses: every single product on the marketplace comes with a ‘cashback’ of some amount, exclusive to the NachoNacho users.

The startup’s leaders say that over 3,200 businesses have signed up as buyers and users of their management app and that they’re constantly in talks with more vendor companies to list their products on the marketplace. The marketplace is a perfect example of the ‘network effect’: as more and more buyers and vendors join in on NachoNacho, the hub becomes more and more varied and beneficial to all involved. And it all starts with a scrappy startup named after the victory dance– that’s NachoNacho for you.
