Smishing is <\/span>phishing through SMS text messaging<\/span><\/a>. The goal of smishing is to scam or otherwise manipulate consumers or an organization\u2019s employees in order to gain access to work applications, accounts or other sensitive data. Users click on a link in their text messages instead of their emails and cybercriminals gain access from there.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pharming has also been called phishing <\/span>without a lure<\/span><\/a>. First, cybercriminals install malicious code on your computer or server then the code sends users to a counterfeit website, where they may be asked to provide personal information. Computer pharming doesn\u2019t demand that initial click to take you to a fraudulent website. Instead, you\u2019re diverted there automatically. <\/span><\/p>\n
