Brunswick, OH<\/span>-based real estate investment company Sesa Properties LLP, who buys houses for cash in Greater Cleveland<\/span> has pledged to donate 200 meals to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank for every property they sell.<\/p>\n “One of the major goals of Sesa Properties from the start has been to improve the communities of Greater Cleveland<\/span>,” said Daniel Sarao<\/span>, Co-Owner and Managing Partner. “Individuals in the local community are struggling and need some help.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Greater Cleveland Food Bank released a statement on August 13, 2020<\/span>, urging Congress to increase the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefit by 15%. <\/p>\n The statement came as The Greater Cleveland Food Bank struggles to meet the recent, unprecedented increase in local families that are depending on them for food. <\/p>\n According to The Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s August 13th, 2020<\/span> statement, “more than 1.5 million Ohioans have filed for unemployment since March.”<\/p>\n Further, “nearly 30,000 new families have visited [their] network of emergency food programs for the first time over the past five months.” <\/p>\n The number of households that visit the organization’s drive-through event has reached over 2,200 households per week (at the time of the August press release).<\/p>\n The food bank’s call for help to Congress and businesses sparked Sesa Properties’ owners to act.<\/p>\n “We’re not the largest company in Cleveland<\/span> by any means, but we do want to help people who are struggling, especially for such a basic necessity. The Greater Cleveland Food Bank has stepped up to help the community during the pandemic, and we also want to do something to help,” said Sarao.<\/p>\n “We would love to see other local Cleveland<\/span> businesses join in. Even if it’s a small contribution.
