T-Mobile VP Jon Freier posted on his Twitter account<\/a> that Sprint stores shut down early on Saturday, August 1, so they could be refurbished into T-Mobile locations on August 2. In addition, visitors to the Sprint’s website<\/a> are now redirected to T-Mobile’s site.<\/p>\n Original story: July 16, 2020:<\/strong> It’s almost time to say “Goodbye” to one of the biggest brand names in the mobile phone industry. Today, T-Mobile<\/a> confirmed that on August 2, 2020, it will officially unify its operations until the T-Mobile brand name. That means August 2 will see the Sprint<\/a> brand disappear.<\/p>\n This move was expected to happen sometime this summer, after the nearly two year struggle to merge T-Mobile and Sprint finally happened April 1<\/a>. T-Mobile has already laid off hundreds of former Sprint employees<\/a>, and has also disabled Sprint’s 5G network<\/a> ahead of the August 2 date.<\/p>\n In a press release<\/a>, T-Mobile stated most of Sprint’s retail store locations will be rebranded as T-Mobile stores. It also hinted at new deals that will be officially announced next week.
