Patrick Mahomes has invested an undisclosed amount of his fortune to join the Kansas City Royals ownership group.<\/p>\n
The Royals announced Tuesday the superstar Chiefs quarterback has acquired a stake in the MLB franchise. Mahomes, the 2018 NFL MVP, signed a record 10-year contract extension this offseason worth a reported $503 million, the richest in sports history.<\/p>\n

Consistent with the entirety of our ownership group, he has a deep commitment to Kansas City and a real passion for the game of baseball — dating back to his childhood.”<\/p>\n The 24-year-old was a talented baseball player before he opted for an NFL career.
