The protracted contract negotiations between Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys<\/a> failed to yield a long-term deal, and it sounds like the inability to hammer out a contract extension has left the quarterback soured on the organization.<\/p>\n Once the deadline passed earlier this month before the parties could hammer out a long-term deal, Prescott said he “couldn’t be happier”<\/a> to be a member of the Cowboys organization. However, it sounds like that may not be the case, at least from the perspective of an unidentified Cowboys coach.<\/p>\n Cowboys reporter Bryan Broaddus said during an appearance Friday on 105.3 The Fan that an anonymous coach doesn’t think Prescott is interested in remaining with the Cowboys for the long haul.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Broaddus added that Prescott was “more hurt by the front office”<\/a> over the unfruitful negotiations than how it may or may not have represented the coaching staff’s view of him.<\/p>\n Reports suggested that the main sticking point between Prescott and the Cowboys was contract length. The Cowboys were seeking a five-year deal while Prescott was inclined to sign only a four-year pact.<\/p>\n As things stand, Prescott will play out the 2020 season under the franchise tag, which will pay him $31.4 million.
