The firm then switched to numbers only from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/android-10-update-1023882\/\">Android 10<\/a>, seemingly marking the end of a fun tradition.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Android&rsquo;s vice-president of engineering Dave Burke has told the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9fKkxdQQ3jE&amp;feature=youtu.be&amp;t=466\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-vars-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9fKkxdQQ3jE&amp;feature=youtu.be&amp;t=466\">All About Android podcast<\/a>&nbsp;that&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/android-11-features-1085228\/\">Android 11<\/a>&nbsp;still has a dessert name that&rsquo;s used internally by engineers. The executive says that they&rsquo;ve officially moved to numbers, so Android 11 is still the name Google will use publicly.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;However, if you were to ask an engineer on my team what are they working on, they would say &lsquo;RVC.&rsquo; And so &lsquo;RVC&rsquo; is Red Velvet Cake,&rdquo; Burke notes.
