The highly anticipated&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/usmagazine.com\/shows\/friends\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Friends<\/em><\/a>&nbsp;reunion special,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/friends-reunion-special-with-original-cast-set-for-may-details\/\">which was originally set to be released<\/a>&nbsp;in May when HBO Max debuted, has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the cast seems to be just as excited about stepping onto the stage together as the fans are.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<div id=\"gallery-current\" class=\"article-content \">\n<p>&ldquo;We are hoping to be able to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/friends-reunion-when-will-the-hbo-max-special-film\/\">shoot in August<\/a>&nbsp;if all is well and there is no early second wave and the studio is open,&rdquo; cocreator<strong>&nbsp;Marta Kauffman<\/strong>&nbsp;told&nbsp;<em>The Wrap<\/em>&nbsp;in June.<\/p>\n<p>The reunion will include all six cast members,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/jennifer-aniston\/\"><strong>ennifer Aniston<\/strong><\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/courteney-cox\/\"><strong>Courteney Cox<\/strong><\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/lisa-kudrow\/\"><strong>Lisa Kudrow<\/strong><\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/matthew-perry\/\"><strong>Matthew Perry<\/strong><\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/david-schwimmer\/\"><strong>David Schwimmer<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/matt-leblanc\/\"><strong>Matt LeBlanc<\/strong><\/a>, as well as Kauffman, 63, and cocreator David Krane. This will be the first time the entire cast is back together on screen since the show wrapped. The special is still set to film on Stage 24 of the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, the same stage the sitcom was filmed for 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Guess you could call this &lsquo;The One Where They Get Back Together,&#8217;&rdquo; HBO Max&rsquo;s chief content officer&nbsp;<strong>Kevin Reilly<\/strong>&nbsp;said in a statement in February. &ldquo;I became aware of Friends when it was in the very early stages of development and then had the opportunity to work on the series many years later and have delighted in seeing it catch on with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/pictures\/friends-cast-members-reveal-their-favorite-episodes\/\">viewers generation after generation<\/a>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The show, which consisted of 236 episodes between its 1994 premiere and 2004 finale, has become one of the most popular sitcoms of all time. The comedy was nominated for 62&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/usmagazine.com\/shows\/emmys\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Primetime Emmy Awards<\/a>&nbsp;(four wins), 10&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/usmagazine.com\/golden-globes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Golden Globe Awards<\/a>&nbsp;(one win), 14&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/usmagazine.com\/shows\/sag-awards\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Screen Actors Guild Awards<\/a>&nbsp;(two wins) and 11 People&rsquo;s Choice Awards (11 wins).<\/p>\n<p>Although many details about the special have yet to be announced, the cast has spoken out about it&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/friends-famous-wedding-episode-included-a-nod-to-jennifer-aniston\/\">many times since the news broke<\/a>.
