There are fears Swans ruckman Sam Naismith may require another knee reconstruction after going down in Sydney’s 67-39 loss to the bulldogs.<\/a><\/p>\n Naismith played only his 30th match on Thursday night after spending the past two seasons on the sidelines rehabbing a ruptured ACL.<\/p>\n Prior to tonight’s match, the 27-year-old tragically endured a brutal COVID-19 shutdown period with the death of his sister.<\/p>\n Sydney coach John Longmire said after the match that the club believes Naismith has likely done his knee after going down in the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n “Unfortunately we think he’s done his knee,” Longmire told reporters after the match.<\/p>\n “It was in the last quarter at some stage. He missed two years of footy and he came back and played round one and played really well.<\/p>\n “Obviously the break [happened], he lost his sister through that break and then he comes back and does his knee.<\/p>\n “So it’s a terrible run for him. Nothing you can say. It’s sort of…um…you’ve just got to be there sometimes.<\/p>\n “We have to give him time to digest it.<\/p>\n “We’re going to need some time to digest it. We’ve got to be with him and look after him because he’s had a terrible run. In a number of ways.”<\/p>\n Before tonight’s match, Naismith had opened up on the challenges he faced during his comeback.<\/p>\n “I’d had eight years of setbacks and injuries, off the field there was a fair bit of family stuff happening with some family members getting pretty sick,” Naismith said.<\/p>\n “There was a point there where I thought I wasn’t going to play.
