One of the requirements instituted by the DOJ for allowing the T-Mobile\/Sprint deal<\/a> was the selling off of Sprint’s prepaid business. The DOJ considered this a good faith effort to ensure competition stays fierce in wireless. Now, the deal that will see Boost Mobile and other Sprint MVNOs sold to Dish is final.<\/p>\n The sale will go forth on July 1, 2020 (via TMoNews<\/em><\/a>). As part of the deal, Dish will take control of Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, and Sprint’s prepaid customers.<\/p>\n There were some problems getting to the deal, though. Apparently, Dish wanted some of the valuations modified due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It’s not clear what concessions were made, if any, but it appears the DOJ stepped in to help T-Mobile and Dish negotiate the deal.<\/p>\n We’re not sure yet how this will affect Boost Mobile customers in the short term.
