<\/div>\n<\/div>\nBand-Aid is launching a range of bandages in light and dark shades of black and brown to make its products more racially inclusive<\/a>.<\/p>\n The company announced the new products on its Instagram<\/a> with an image that shows adhesive strips in five different colours including pale shades to darker hues.<\/p>\n Band-Aid, which is a part of Johnson & Johnson<\/a>, created the bandages to show its commitment to promoting diversity and in support of those protesting for racial equality following the death of African America George Floyd<\/a> in police custody in Minneapolis on Monday 25 May.<\/p>\n “We stand in solidarity with our Black colleagues, collaborators and community in the fight against racism, violence and injustice,” Band-Aid’s post stated. “We are committed to taking actions to create tangible change for the Black community.\u2063”<\/p>\n “We are committed to launching a range of bandages in light, medium and deep shades of Brown and Black skin tones that embrace the beauty of diverse skin,” it added.<\/p>\n “We are dedicated to inclusivity and providing the best healing solutions, better representing you.\u2063”<\/p>\n Established in 1920, Band-Aid previously launched a range of bandages in multiple skin tones in 2005. Named Perfect Blend, these bandages were discontinued three years later.<\/p>\n “We are excited to bring back a similar product with improved comfort and flexibility,” a Band-Aid spokesperson told US news channel NBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n Johnson & Johnson has pledged that over the next three years it will give $10 million (£7,944,923) to fight racism and injustice in the United States, while Band-Aid brand it is donating $100,000 (£79,455) to the Black Lives Matter Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n Following George Floyd’s death and protests around the world, a number of artists and illustrators have created visuals as part of the Black Lives Matter movement<\/a> to spread information and resources on how to help.<\/p>\n Many designers and architects have spoken out in demand for more equality and diversity<\/a>, while others joined many on Instagram in posting a black square in solidarity with those protesting<\/a> for racial equality.<\/p>\n Tags:<\/b> Kristine Klein<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"See Campaign: <\/strong>https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2020\/06\/16\/band-aid-bandages-brown-black-skin-tones\/<\/a>
