Update, June 16, 2020 (2:16 AM ET): <\/strong>Last evening, we reported that all major US carriers were facing widespread outages. It appears that the main problem was with T-Mobile’s network. As a result, calls from other networks to T-Mobile were not going through, creating an impression that AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon were also down.<\/p>\n Now, T-Mobile has confirmed<\/a> that the issue has been resolved. All voice, text, and data services have been restored for T-Mobile customers across the board.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, AT&T and Verizon told The Verge<\/em><\/a> that their networks are working just fine.<\/p>\n Original article, June 15, 2020 (4:23 PM ET):<\/strong> Have you had difficulties making calls or sending text messages today? If you live in the US, you’re not alone, as there appears to be a widespread AT&T<\/a>, T-Mobile<\/a>, Sprint<\/a>, and Verizon<\/a> outage happening at the moment.<\/p>\n It’s not clear what the problem is and none of the carriers have come forth with a statement on the matter. However, social media has been blowing up for the past few hours with people complaining about dropped calls, lack of service, and other signifiers that there’s a network issue.<\/p>\n Neville Ray, a T-Mobile exec, did post a tweet related to the outage. While not an official statement, it at least backs up the idea that this is a widespread problem:<\/p>\n Although it’s hard to pinpoint anything without help from the carriers, it appears that major cities are being hit the hardest. We’ve found reports that the T-Mobile network, specifically, is seeing a lot of outages in the south, although we could not confirm that.<\/p>\n The bottom line, for now, is that if you are facing any issues with your cell service, it’s likely nothing to do with you or your device.<\/p>\n This is a developing story and we will update it when new information becomes available.<\/p>\n Tags:<\/b> C.
