ENG vs WI | Test Series | Start From 8 July<\/p>\n
• The 39-member West Indies cricket team led by captain Jason Holder arrived in Manchester on Tuesday to play a three-Test series in the changed conditions due to Covid-19. Cricket activity has stalled around the world since March due to Corona virus epidemic and the West Indies became the first team to tour any country after that. During this series, all three matches will be played in a bio safe environment and spectators will not be allowed to come to the stadium.<\/p>\n
• Before leaving the West Indies, all the players were subjected to a Covid-19 test, in which all reports were negative. The players were brought by two planes from different islands in the Caribbean region on Monday and then left for England in a special plane. The Caribbean team will be on 14 days of isolation at Old Trafford for the seven-week tour, where the last two Tests will also be played. All players will be tested for the Covid-19 once they arrive here. Players have to live in a bio-safe environment and follow government guidelines.<\/p>\n
• England-West Indies series will start from July 8
The first Test match will be played from July 8 at the Aegis Bowl while the second (July 16 to 20) and the third (July 24 to 28) will be played at Old Trafford. In this way, all three Test matches will be played within 21 days. These locations have been chosen because they have a hotel inside or near the stadium and a bio-safe environment can be created in them. Despite these efforts by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), three West Indies players Darren Bravo, Shimron Hetmyer and Chemo Paul refused to come on tour if their cricket board was allowed to decide at their own discretion.<\/p>\n

• ‘Big move for Test series international cricket’
Due to being in a bio-safe environment, the players will not be able to move out of their venue and hence the West Indies have placed 14 main players for the tour as well as 11 reserve players. Reserve players will help them in the preparation of the Test team and will be able to easily replace a player if he is injured. West Indies captain Jason Holder called the tour a big step for cricket before leaving. He said that we are going to England for the series and this is a big step for sports especially cricket. This tour has also created the possibility of cricket returning to the deadline. While playing during the series, players will have to follow certain stringent health rules. The Cricket Committee of the International Cricket Council (ICC) has recommended a ban on the use of saliva to shine the ball which is likely to be approved in the ICC Board meeting to be held on Wednesday. In addition, players and support staff will be constantly tested.<\/p>\n
