After several weeks of waiting, Fortnite’s epic event is nearly here.<\/p>\n
The Doomsday event that will end Chapter 2 Season 2 is scheduled to start on June 15 at 2 p.m. ET. While the event will eventually lead to the start of Season 3, the actual start of the new season won’t be for a few days later. Still, the event is supposed to be a big one, and fans have been waiting anxiously for it.<\/p>\n
Epic Games has delayed this event a few times, the last of which came due to protests around the country.<\/p>\n
“Recent events are a heavy reminder of ongoing injustices in society, from the denial of basic human rights to the impact of racism both overt and subtle against people of color,” Epic Games said in a statement. “We’re acutely aware of the pain our friends, families, team members, players, and communities are experiencing. We believe in equality and justice, diversity and inclusion, and that these fundamentals are above politics. The team is eager to move Fortnite forward, but we need to balance the Season 3 launch with time for the team to focus on themselves, their families, and their communities.”<\/p>\n
That brings us to now, with the event finally scheduled to start.<\/p>\n
The Fortnite Doomsday event is taking place on Monday, June 15<\/strong>. The Device is set to be activated at 2 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n Despite previous delays for this event, Epic Games is planning to move on with this one as planned. If you plan on watching the event live in-game, then Epic Games suggests you arrive 30 minutes early due to potential server wait time.<\/p>\n If for some reason you’re unable to watch it in-game, you can watch a live stream of the event from someone sharing the expeirence on Twitch or YouTube.<\/p>\n The timer above will count down to the start of The Device being activated during Fortnite’s live event.<\/p>\n While the Fortnite live event is taking place on June 13, the start of Season 3 won’t start until Wednesday, June 17<\/strong>. This is typical of previous Fortnite live events where the major event will happen before the official start of the next season.<\/p>\n This year is a bit different because live events typically take place on Saturdays in Fortnite, but that just means less wait time for fans to get excited about Season 3.<\/p>\n If you’d rather wait and watch, then don’t read ahead because there are potential spoilers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n So it’s likely whatever happens in the live event will force the map to flood. It’ll be interesting to watch and find out.<\/p>\n Unless something changes, the Battle Pass for Season 3 should be the same as previous versions. This means the Season 3 Battle Pass will cost 950 V-Bucks for the regular edition, 2,500 V-Bucks for the Battle Bundle edition.
