Last week we had the opportunity to report from Neuralink, the cutting-edge neurotechnology company, who are excited to announce the arrival of Cornelius, a monkey who will be the first animal to undergo neural interface testing with the latest advancements to our brain-machine interface technology since 2021.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Cornelius will play a pivotal role in testing the newest updates to our system, pushing the boundaries of what\u2019s possible in the future of neural interfaces.<\/span><\/p>\n Animal testing has been restarted to continue to develop highly sophisticated brain-machine interfaces (BMIs). This new phase of testing will take advantage of several important developments since the last animal demonstration in 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n The following objectives were shared with us to report on:<\/span><\/p>\n Higher resolution monitoring with precision for tracking neural activity and controlling devices.<\/span><\/p>\n Enhanced wireless data for more stable brain-to-device communication for smoother control.<\/span><\/p>\n Real-time BCI feedback creating algorithms for more intuitive brain-computer interaction.<\/span><\/p>\n Improved Implant Safety that enhances durability, minimizing risks for long-term use.<\/span><\/p>\n Final thing we learnt was the improved neural mapping – modem neurons monitored for deeper insights into brain function.<\/span><\/p>\n As part of the Neuralink team\u2019s ongoing mission to bring life-changing advancements to those suffering from neurological diseases and disorders, Cornelius\u2019 participation will be a key step toward the next phase of human trials.
