DeKalb County stood out with 112 nighttime deaths, representing 74% of its total.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"8169\" data-start=\"8055\">Factors such as fatigue, reduced visibility, and impaired driving all contribute to heightened nighttime danger.<\/p>\n<h3 data-end=\"8207\" data-start=\"8171\"><strong data-end=\"8207\" data-start=\"8175\">Alcohol: A Persistent Killer<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-end=\"8271\" data-start=\"8208\">Drunk driving remains a consistent factor in Georgia crashes:<\/p>\n<ul data-end=\"8505\" data-start=\"8272\">\n<li data-end=\"8362\" data-start=\"8272\">\n<p data-end=\"8362\" data-start=\"8274\">28% of fatalities in the five counties involved a driver with a BAC of 0.08 or higher.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-end=\"8413\" data-start=\"8363\">\n<p data-end=\"8413\" data-start=\"8365\">DeKalb led with 45 alcohol-related fatalities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-end=\"8505\" data-start=\"8414\">\n<p data-end=\"8505\" data-start=\"8416\">Fulton (31), Gwinnett (20), Richmond (15), and Cobb (13) also posted troubling figures.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-end=\"8548\" data-start=\"8507\"><strong data-end=\"8548\" data-start=\"8511\">Speeding: A Fulton County Hotspot<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-end=\"8749\" data-start=\"8549\">While speeding accounted for 20% of total fatalities, Fulton County posted the highest share at 31%. Fulton ranked second, with the highest speeding fatalities and unbelted deaths. Gwinnett had the highest percentage of alcohol-related crashes.
