Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that there will be no training camp for players prior to their departure for England following the current situation due to prevailing COVID-19 in the country. <\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the PCB, they will not be able to hold the training camp for players taking into account the Covid-19 outlook in Pakistan in the coming weeks. Hence, the PCB is in discussion with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to bring forward their departure date in July to provide players ample time for practice there.<\/p>\n

The PCB, meanwhile, has reminded the players to not to practice at cricket grounds during this period and that they must observe and adhere to strict social distancing protocols.<\/p>\n

It must be noted here that the players were to undergo a training camp at National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore. But, the facilities there were not enough to provide a bio-secure environment for around 25 to 30 players at a time.<\/p>\n

Pakistan team is likely to travel to England early in July and will remain in quarantine for first 14 days as per the directives of the United Kingdom (UK)’s government.<\/p>\n
