Disney has reached 50 million in just a few months. In February, Disney reported 29 million, so those subscribers have nearly doubled in just a few short months. The service may have gotten a boost from users who are consuming more home entertainment amid shelter-in-place orders right now&mdash;and that might suggest that the above numbers from a few months ago for CBS, Netflix, and Hulu might be notably behind current figures.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Disney recently released some films that were supposed to be getting theatrical releases on Disney+ instead as a way to distribute them as movie theaters closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>According to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2020\/04\/disney-50-million-paid-subscribers-globally-1202904097\/\">Deadline<\/a>, Disney&#8217;s target is 60 to 90 million subscribers worldwide by 2024. Disney+ initially launched in the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands. As of today, it&#8217;s available in all of the following countries and territories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Australia<\/li>\n<li>Austria<\/li>\n<li>Canada<\/li>\n<li>Channel Islands<\/li>\n<li>France<\/li>\n<li>Germany<\/li>\n<li>India<\/li>\n<li>Ireland<\/li>\n<li>Isle of Man<\/li>\n<li>Italy<\/li>\n<li>Netherlands<\/li>\n<li>New Zealand<\/li>\n<li>Puerto Rico<\/li>\n<li>Spain<\/li>\n<li>Switzerland<\/li>\n<li>United Kingdom<\/li>\n<li>United States<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Clearly, there are many regions left for Disney+ to expand into, and since the service has reached 50 million subscribers in just the above, it now appears possible that we&#8217;ll learn before long that Disney itself underestimated the service&#8217;s potential when it set that 60-to-90-million-by-2024 goal.<\/p>\n<p>However, we should note that more competition is on the horizon.
