Donald Trump spent at least part of his weekend yelling at the TV, releasing a new rant calling out Fox News<\/a>\u00a0for running ads critical of him.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat good is it if FOX News speaks well of me when they continually allow horrible and untruthful anti-Trump commercials to be run \u2014 and plenty of them,\u201d Trump said in a statement.\u00a0\u201cIn the good old days, that would never have happened and today it happens all of the time.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not clear which ad triggered the former president, but several anti-Trump groups have been running spots critical of him and his supporters in Congress, often airing them on Fox News in hopes he\u2019ll see them.<\/p>\n

The progressive PAC\u00a0MeidasTouch<\/a>\u00a0said it was one of their spots, airing on the right-wing network in the market where Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago resort is located:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just broke Trump,\u201d the anti-Trump organization crowed in another tweet. \u201cWe didn\u2019t think we could break him any more than we already had. But we did.\u201d<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Lincoln Project<\/a>, a group of never-Trump conservatives, said it could\u2019ve been one of their spots.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re always running ads on Fox News in Bedminster [New Jersey] and Mar-a-Lago area cable,\u201d\u00a0co-founder Rick Wilson told Mediaite<\/a>. He said the ads were part of the group\u2019s \u201caudience of one\u201d strategy.<\/p>\n

The group has long-run spots specifically meant<\/a>\u00a0to be seen by that audience of one \u2015 Trump \u2015\u00a0and cause him to react<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Other groups, including the conservative\u00a0Republican Accountability Project<\/a>, have also run strategic ads against Trump and his congressional enablers, so there are no shortages of suspects.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s attack on Fox News comes days after he unveiled a new company that could ultimately pursue the same viewers \u2015 and the same advertisers.\u00a0Trump\u2019s\u00a0newly announced Truth Social<\/a>\u00a0will first attempt to be a right-wing rival to Twitter.<\/p>\n

But the company is also planning online streaming services, including one with a subscription tier that may be positioning itself as a rival to Fox News\u2019 own subscription streaming service Fox Nation.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s reportedly been looking to take on Fox for some time, with\u00a0Axios reporting last year<\/a>\u00a0that he wanted to \u201cwreck\u201d the right-wing network , which he believes\u00a0hasn\u2019t been supportive enough,<\/a>\u00a0with his own competing content.<\/p>\n
