Install the latest firmware for both (OS 5.6 and OS 5.5 respectively) and you&rsquo;ll not only lose access to those apps, but won&rsquo;t have a way to roll back.<\/p>\n<p>The company explained the move as an effort to &ldquo;prioritize learning and minimize any security risks.&rdquo; It&rsquo;s to reduce cheating, to put it another way. In a chat with&nbsp;<em>Cemetech<\/em>, EdTech President Peter Balyta hoped that the community would shift its focus to advancing Python development and suggest ideas that would satisfy the needs of schools, students and developers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"o-article_block pb-15 pb-5@m- mt-n35 mt-n25@m mt-n15@s\">\n<div class=\"grid@tl+\">\n<div class=\"full-width@tp- grid@tl+__cell col-8-of-12@tl+\">\n<div class=\"article-text c-gray-1 no-review\">\n<p>While this could please teachers worried that students will use apps to cheat during exams, enthusiasts are unsurprisingly mad. This reduces the amount of control programmers have over their calculator apps. As it stands, this might not have the intended effect. Some have already found ways to bypass the calculators&rsquo; Exam Mode &mdash; the updates may block &lsquo;casual&rsquo; cheaters, but not determined ones.
