And his 928-piece collection of anime artwork will be on sale in June for three days starting on June 25.<\/span><\/p>\n

This sale starts in Dallas at Heritage, where individuals will purchase and bid on various types of artwork. Called “The Art of Anime and Everything Cool,” this auction is one of the largest of its kind ever held. The overall sale of the collection is estimated to bring in over $1 million in sales, though the overall price may vary accordingly depending on bids and other factors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, <\/span>Mike Glad<\/span><\/a> and his association are setting minimum bids up at $1 for each object. Many of these items have been priced at anywhere from $500 to $15,000 or more. During this time, Glad was one of the primary factors for the import of the acclaimed manga (Japanese comic) series “Akira” to the nation. This comic was the first introduction of manga for many people in the country and could be the starting point of the craze that swept the nation in the 1990s and 2000s. Without this action, films like the “Akira” adaptation and more may never have made it here.<\/span><\/p>\n
