Echobit Labs: Mapping the Multi-Chain Evolution of the Philippine Web3 Ecosystem

The Philippine Web3 ecosystem is increasingly developing as a multi-chain market rather than a single-chain economy, according to an Echobit Labs research report examining the country’s public-chain and DApp landscape. Ethereum, Ronin, BNB Chain, Solana, TON and Base are each developing different roles across Gaming, DeFi, Consumer DApps, SocialFi, payments and developer ecosystems.

Ronin remains closely associated with the Philippines’ GameFi history, particularly through Axie Infinity and its broader gaming ecosystem. The report notes that Ronin’s significance extends beyond any individual game: its gaming infrastructure helped connect existing gaming communities with wallets, NFTs, tokens and other digital assets, making Gaming an important entry point into Web3 for Philippine users.

BNB Chain represents a broader model, combining Gaming with DeFi and Consumer DApps. Its ecosystem included more than 565 gaming projects across BSC and opBNB in 2024, while the report highlights its ability to support users moving from gaming into trading, DeFi and other on-chain applications.

Ethereum occupies a different position as a foundational smart-contract ecosystem for DeFi, NFTs, stablecoins and other applications. Meanwhile, Solana is increasingly relevant to high-frequency trading, memecoins, DeFi, SocialFi and consumer applications, suggesting a role that extends beyond gaming.

TON introduces another potential onboarding model through Telegram Mini Apps. With Web3 applications accessible within an existing social platform, the ecosystem offers a mobile-first route into wallets, gaming, payments and decentralized applications. The report points to the 2025 integration of USDt-TON with GCash as an example of expanding accessibility in the Philippine market.

Base, by comparison, is developing its Philippine presence largely through developers and builders. Its local initiatives involving organizations such as YGG and Coins.ph point toward a model centered on Consumer Apps, DeFi, stablecoins and the broader onchain economy rather than a single dominant application.

Taken together, the research suggests that Philippine Web3 adoption is moving beyond its historical GameFi foundation toward a more diversified combination of Gaming, DeFi, SocialFi, Stablecoin Payments, Consumer DApps and developer ecosystems. Echobit Labs therefore frames the Philippine Blockchain Map as an interconnected structure in which different chains and local gateways serve distinct functions, rather than a straightforward competition for a single user base.

Echobit Labs’ analysis ultimately presents the Philippines as a market shaped by the interaction of multi-chain infrastructure, local financial gateways and established Web3 communities, providing a broader framework for understanding how blockchain adoption may continue to develop across the country.
