DALLAS – Feb. 10, 2022 – Be An Angel, a Texas-based 501(c)(3), is launching a Dallas-Fort Worth chapter to serve North Texas children who have multiple and profound disabilities.

The foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life for disabled and medically fragile children and their families by providing wheelchairs, hearing aids and respite care, along with other adaptive equipment and select services.

Marti Boone, executive director of the organization, says they saw a critical need for their services and support in the DFW-area.

“The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is the fourth-largest metropolitan area in the nation, with many children needing services, support and equipment to improve their day-to-day lives,” she said. “That’s where Be An Angel comes in to help these children and their families.”

Be An Angel is opening offices in both Dallas and Fort Worth, and it kicked off its first successful DFW event during the holidays by gifting toys and supplies to more than 200 children at the Jo Kelly School in Fort Worth and in Dallas ISD’s special education programs. That’s just the beginning, says Steve Schmidt, Partner with Admodum Investments and DFW Chair for the charity.

“Be An Angel has been such a gift for many years in the Houston area, serving these special children and their families. Our goal is to build on that foundation and replicate their programs and services in DFW and beyond.”

Joining Schmidt as founding partners of the DFW Chapter are David Hardin, a retired investments manager, long-time supporter of Be An Angel, and sponsor of the playscape at the Jo Kelly School; Bruce Leonard, Vice President, NGL Marketing & Transportation for Targa Resources; and Jennifer Green-Moneta, CEO of LiveEcho Marketing.
