What North Americans Are Doing To Fight Climate Change?

Climate change is a liberal agenda that is believed to cause a gradual rise in sea level due to melting sea ice. Global scientists believe climate change will cause the global temperature will increase by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius or below 1.8 and 5.4 degrees Fahrenheit in some regions. Over the next century, the level of damage will depend on how much carbon dioxide (CO2) greenhouse gases, known as heat-trapping gases, will be emitted into the global environment. Another factor that will impact climate change is how sensitive the earth is to greenhouse gases.

Is Climate Change Brought On By Humans?

Scientists believe global warming is contributed by human behavior and activities. A recent report revealed that humans emit approximately 50 billion tonnes of greenhouse CO2 gases each year, up by 40 percent in 1990. Americans, Chinese, and Europeans are responsible for 41.5 percent of the global greenhouse gas emissions.

Are North Americans Doing Their Share? Minimizing Your Carbon Footprint!

Many North Americans take climate change seriously, others not so much. To impact the amount of damage caused by climate change already, every living, breathing human will need to step up to the plate. Millions of people across the globe have already joined the climate change bandwagon. These individuals support the climate change agenda by making the necessary changes in their lifestyles to minimizing the total amount of greenhouse emissions their home and family emit each year. You too can do your share by committing to the agenda and making the following changes in your way of living.

Minimizing Energy Usage

There are many ways, North Americans can minimize the total amount of energy they utilize on a daily basis. Something as simple as switching a light switch to the OFF position when exiting a room will go a long way in protecting the environment from further climate change damage. Most electricity in North America comes from natural gas and coal, the remainder comes from renewable energy sources, such as windmills, solar panels, and water power.

Your desktop computer alone utilizes between 60 and 300 watts of electricity, depending on several factors. These factors include online activities, such as Euro 2021 gaming, printing, downloading, uploading, utilizing a video card, and a high-tech wireless modem.

Supporters have already taken the steps to transition from conventional incandescent light bulbs to Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs). Unlike incandescent light bulbs, LEDs utilize a semiconductor diode to emit light only when a current (voltage) is applied. Scientists believe the LED is an energy-saving device, compared to incandescent light bulbs. A single 60-watt incandescent bulk utilizes up to 1500 watts of energy over 25,000 hours. An 8.5-watt LED light bulb utilizes 212.5 kilowatts of electricity over 25,000 hours. You do the math, which option utilizes less coal- and gas-generated electricity?

Environmentalists suggest transitioning from gas and coal power plants to renewable energy. An online casino utilizes less energy than a brick-and-mortar casino. When you visit an online casino, you are doing your part by supporting an energy-efficient business.

Diet changes

It is also possible to minimize your carbon footprint by switching from a meat-based diet to a plant-based diet. Studies reveal farm animals – hogs, cattle, cows, chickens, sheep, goats, ducks, and turkeys – generate a significant amount of greenhouse gases daily. Scientists believe farm animals are responsible for about one-fifth of the global greenhouse gas emissions. Every time one of these animals burbs, it is releasing a mixture of nitrous oxide and carbon dioxide (greenhouse gases).

Industrial and commercial farmers in North America are also reducing precious carbon dioxide by removing trees to make way for grazing pastures.

The Drawdown Project released a report that showed how transitioning from a meat-based diet to a plant-based diet as a whole could minimize greenhouse emissions. The organization provided an example in its report that claimed carbon dioxide emissions could be reduced by 65 gigatons by 2050 if half of the global population would transition to a plant-rich diet.

Afterword

Environmentalists also recommend walking, skateboarding, and cycling instead of taking a public commuter bus, taxi, or gas-powered vehicle. It is also recommended to move away from gas-powered vehicles and toward Electric Vehicles (EVs). Of course, not everyone is on board with the climate change agenda. Everyone will have to sit idle to determine what is to come of the earth.
