About the Organisation
Students for the Promotion of International Law (SPIL), Mumbai at Government Law College, Mumbai, as the name suggests, is a student body which cynosures International Law.
With an increasing need for awareness in the field of International Law, SPIL maintains that such awareness is put into an impetus through the diverse events we conduct within the versatile subject of International Law.

Topic: Introduction to the WTO framework: Trade and Environment with Q&A Session on pursuing a Masters in International Law
The World Trade Organisation is an intergovernmental body which regulates International Trade and ensures healthy multilateralism amongst the countries by preventing discrimination and encouraging reciprocity while at the same time taking in the account myriad of constraints like national security and environmental protection.
The Webinar focuses upon the framework of the WTO, particularly delving into the two primary spheres of trade and environment.

About the Speaker
Ms. Akshata Limaye is a Consultant at Trade for Sustainable Development (T4SD): International Trade Centre, Geneva. She pursued her B.L.S./L.L.B. at Government Law College, Mumbai from where she graduated in 2016.
After working as an Associate at Economics Law Practice for 2 years, she went on to pursue her Masters of Advance Studies,
International Law and Economics from World Trade Institute of the University of Bern, Switzerland where studied various courses which gave her a unique multi-disciplinary perspective.
She has Diploma in Cyber Laws (Asian School of Cyber Laws) and in Entrepreneurship Administration and Business Laws (West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences). During the Webinar, Ms. Limaye will elucidate upon the nuances and
subtleties in the working of the World Trade Organisation, emphasizing on the trade and environmental aspects.
