After the Fyre Festival scandal, Ja Rule has now established a partnership with a Greek deli, and their ad is something else.
The rapper filmed a hilarious low-budget commercial for Papa Cristo’s Greek Grill, a Los Angeles deli, and it has garnered tons of reactions on social media.
“Slap your momma!” he exclaimed at the beginning of the clip. The rapper wore black sweatpants, a baseball hat and a black t-shirt with the words “I love Greece” plastered on the front. Ja Rule was also seen praising delights of Papa Cristo’s while shots of pitas and gyros flashed behind him.
“Papa Cristo’s has the best motherf**king gyros you’ve ever eaten in your life,” he proclaimed enthusiastically. He then began pronouncing, albeit inaccurately, some of his favorite dishes from the eatery, including oktapodakia, avgolemono soup and kreatopita.
“You can’t even pronounce the food, it’s so goddamn good,” he said.
Ja Rule additionally showed fans how he produced the commercial in behind-the-scenes shots. It turns out that filming took place in his own backyard. He also thanked fans for the attention.
The ad was created for a new TBS reality TV show, Celebrity Show-Off, and he filmed it in hopes of helping the food chain during the coronavirus pandemic.
50 Cent has responded to the hysterical commercial, saying, “This is what happens when you mess with me, I’ll have you and your whole label selling gyros.”
