UAE-SAN MARINO: Diplomatic relations established

NEW YORK, Jan. 29 (WAM) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) officially established diplomatic relations with the Republic of San Marino at ambassadorial level with effect from yesterday, said a joint statement issued by the two countries here last night.

The joint statement was signed by the UAE's Permanent Ambassador to the UN, Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al-Jarman, and his San Marino counterpart Daniele Bodini in the presence of members of the diplomatic missions of the two countries.

The joint statement was deposited at the UN headquarters in Arabic and English.

The two sides then discussed ways of developing political, cultural and economic bonds through exchange of visits and expertise and boosting relations of friendship and cooperation between their peoples based on the principles and objectives of the UN charter, international laws and treaties, particularly those related to respect for global peace and security, equality among peoples of the world, sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.
