<\/div>\nIt’s been a whirlwind couple of days for Patrick Mahomes<\/a> and Chiefs fans. The NFL Super Bowl LIV MVP penned a massive 10-year contract extension with his current franchise on Monday.<\/p>\n The mega-deal will see Mahomes bag home a cool $450 mil at least over the course of 10 years. He can earn up to $50 million and more in performance-related bonuses which will be triggered later.<\/p>\n If the figures being reported are accurate, then the ‘Pat Mahomes deal’ will be the biggest NFL contract of all time. That being said, let’s take a look at four potential players who can bag a similar NFL contract in the near future.<\/p>\n Joe Burrow had a terrific season with LSU last year and led them to the National Championship title. He bagged the Heisman Trophy in 2019. Burrow was the NFL 2020 first draft pick and will play for Cincinnati Bengals this season.<\/p>\n Burrow is tipped for great things based on his LSU record. He is strong in the pocket and was impressive over the course of the 2019 NCAA season.<\/p>\n If he has a stellar rookie season with the Bengals and plays his cards right, he can demand a larger contract after his current one runs out.<\/p>\n Derrick Deshaun Watson<\/a> is the 24-year old starting QB for Houston Texans. The Georgia-born youngster has shown promising signs following his signing to Houston in 2017.<\/p>\n Watson threw for 3,800+ yards last season and registered 26 TDs. He scored the same number of TDs the year before. In addition to that stupendous tally, Watson did not fail to impress in the Divisional game against the Chiefs before the Texans blew a 24-0 lead in the second quarter.<\/p>\n The Houston-based NFL franchise exercised the fifth-year extension option on Watson’s current deal. However, he is in line for a big-money payday soon enough if he keeps performing consistently.<\/p>\n The Dak Prescott situation is truly unique. However, Patrick Mahomes’ deal could be used by Dak and his agent to get the otherwise strict negotiator, Jerry Jones to opening his wallet up for the 26-year-old prodigy.<\/p>\n Prescott had a stellar rookie season with the Cowboys in 2016. However, he faced a series of ups and downs in his stint in the NFL over the course of the following three seasons.<\/p>\n He has maintained a pass completion percentage of 65.8% since 2016. He was terrific last year for the Cowboys. Dak threw for 4,902 yards and registered 30 TDs in 2019, his best tally in the NFL so far.<\/p>\n Can he get Jones to give him the contract he desires?<\/p>\n Of all the names on this list, Lamar Jackson is the closest it comes to securing a mega long-term deal similar to that of Mahomes. The 2019 NFL MVP award winner is still only 23. He threw for 3,000+ yards and rushed for another 1,000+ more to bag the NFL MVP award by a unanimous vote last year.<\/p>\n There is no limit to Jackson’s potential in the NFL.
