With T-Mobile’s acquisition of Sprint<\/a> in full swing, it’s time for some big changes. Following a test run in New York, T-Mobile has now completely shut down the Sprint 5G network across the United States.<\/p>\n That means many Sprint 5G phones out in the wild will no longer see 5G speeds. The exceptions to this are the Samsung Galaxy S20<\/a>, LG V60 ThinQ<\/a>, and OnePlus 8<\/a> which have band support for T-Mobile’s 5G network.<\/p>\n The Sprint 5G network was live in parts of Chicago, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Washington, DC, Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Kansas City, and Miami. T-Mobile is taking the 2.5GHz spectrum Sprint owned and re-deploying it and optimizing it for its own network. However, all Sprint phones (aside from the ones mentioned previously) still won’t work on the network after this change happens.<\/span><\/p>\n Instead, T-Mobile is offering a series of deals for Sprint customers to trade in their 5G phones for a different model that will work properly on T-Mobile.
