Previously, the Indian government had called for a ban on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/zoom-india-unsafe-advisory-1108248\/\">video-conferencing service Zoom<\/a>. Zoom, in particular, has been privy to severe scrutiny in the US and abroad over possible security flaws, privacy concerns, and the lack of encryption. The company finally relented and enabled&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/zoom-encryption-free-users-1130148\/\">end-to-end encryption for all users<\/a>, even those on the free tier.<\/p>\n<p>Other noteworthy apps on the list include Xiaomi&rsquo;s first-party apps like Mi Community and Mi Store. The two serve as key touchpoints for feedback and to enable sales of ecosystem products.<\/p>\n<p>The full list includes over 52 apps (h\/t&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/india-news\/intel-agencies-red-flag-use-of-52-mobile-apps-with-links-to-china-complete-list\/story-B50Slf39aSnVOrCcS92l1N.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-vars-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/india-news\/intel-agencies-red-flag-use-of-52-mobile-apps-with-links-to-china-complete-list\/story-B50Slf39aSnVOrCcS92l1N.html\">Hindustan Times<\/a><\/em>) and has been backed by the National Security Council with further plans to assess the risk associated with each app. A potential concern is that the apps not just leak data, but might also be used to degrade network conditions in case of conflict.<\/p>\n<p>Intelligence agencies have advised the government to block or ban the apps but there has been no official announcement yet.
