Now the company is looking to source OLED displays from external manufacturers.<\/p>\n<p>The first phone to use a non-Samsung OLED will be the Galaxy M41, according to insiders. They add that Samsung has already chosen China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT), which is owned by TCL.<\/p>\n<p>However, the company also&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/samsung_in_talks_with_boe_to_supply_oled_panels_for_future_galaxy_phones-news-42903.php\">looked at BOE<\/a>&nbsp;as a potential alternative supply line, perhaps even as a source for displays on future flagships like the Galaxy S21 (but that&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/samsung_will_be_using_its_own_oleds_for_the_galaxy_s21_lineup_after_all-news-43685.php\">is not happening<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"image-row clearfix\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/the_galaxy_m41_may_be_the_first_to_use_a_nonsamsung_oled_display-news-43771.php#\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fdn.gsmarena.com\/imgroot\/news\/20\/03\/galaxy-m51-onleaks-renders\/-315\/gsmarena_001.jpg\" alt=\"Samsung Galaxy M41 (or M51)\" width=\"515\" height=\"291\" \/><\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/the_galaxy_m41_may_be_the_first_to_use_a_nonsamsung_oled_display-news-43771.php#\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fdn.gsmarena.com\/imgroot\/news\/20\/03\/galaxy-m51-onleaks-renders\/-315\/gsmarena_002.jpg\" alt=\"Samsung Galaxy M41 (or M51)\" width=\"515\" height=\"291\" \/><\/a><br \/><span><strong>Samsung Galaxy M41 (or M51)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>CSOT was chosen by both Xiaomi and Motorola to make displays for the Mi 10 and Edge phones, respectively. Similarly, Samsung Electronics is free to pick the component manufacturer that best suits it price and feature needs (like it doesn&rsquo;t always use Exynos chips), Samsung Display doesn&rsquo;t get special treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/samsung_galaxy_m41_or_m51_cadbased_renders_show_35mm_jack_punch_hole_selfie_camera-news-42186.php\">first renders<\/a>&nbsp;of the Galaxy M41 appeared, showing a flat screen and a punch hole camera (with a fingerprint reader on the back).
