However, sometimes it doesn\u2019t work out and the ax falls, and we\u2019re left with a poorly refined assignment or worse an incomplete one.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Procrastination involves ignoring our carefully crafted <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.spica.com\/blog\/monthly-and-weekly-timesheets-free-excel-timesheets-template\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">timesheets<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and wasting productive time doing unnecessary ventures. Procrastinating induces a constant state of apprehension and you can always hear the faint peal of warning bells echoing in your head, that\u2019s your inner perfectionist urging you to work. Usually, procrastinators end up developing an inferiority complex as their subconscious trills a tally of insults at them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Specialists have come up with a long list of suggestions to get one out of the procrastination hailstorm unscathed, today we will itemize some recommendations that are determined to work.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Two Forms of Procrastination:<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Procrastination is more than just carelessness. It has two types, both of which are handled differently.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Acute Procrastination: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">it is a relatively less serious and short-lived episode that can be brought about by stress, a routine disruption, mood swings etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Chronic Procrastination: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">it is usually a side effect of some medical condition (such as clinical depression, ADD or Autism) thus it isn\u2019t very easily eliminated and requires a lot of forbearance and endeavor.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Acute Procrastination:<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many suffer from acute procrastination from time to time. It\u2019s easier to recognize because a typical reaction would involve wondering \u201cwhat has gone into me today?\u201d or else \u201cI\u2019m not usually this stupid\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Acute procrastination may occur due to a plethora of reasons such as:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The work doesn\u2019t pique your interest<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It involves company that you usually avoid<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Energy insufficiency<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You need a break<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Someone else deserved the responsibility.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ask yourself what is it that\u2019s stopping you from working? If it\u2019s any of the reasons listed above, there are several things you can do to get out of this situation:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\n<h3><b>Just Start Working:<\/b><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The best thing you can do is \u2018just begin the task\u2019. First step is always the hardest. Remember the time you went swimming and couldn\u2019t put your feet in water? But it all became easier once you\u2019d overcome the initial hesitation. Think of it as something similar.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\n<h3><b>Easier Tasks First:<\/b><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use procrastination as a motivation to finish other less important tasks on hold; clean your room or rearrange your bookshelf. The key is to not waste time scrolling through social media etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\n<h3><b>Regulate Energy, Not Time:<\/b><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A big part of time management also involves energy management, so accept that you\u2019ll have productive and lazy days\/ hours. Figure out your active hours and work during them. And don\u2019t forget to replenish your energy reserves!<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Chronic Procrastination:<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unlike the former, chronic procrastination involves an intricate psychological and physiological history that makes it difficult for a person to work efficiently. They are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perfectionism and other similar cognitive disorders<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Neurodivergence<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unexplained lack of energy\/ motivation<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unhealthy lifestyle<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attention deficient<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some recommended steps to deal with it include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\n<h3><b>Enrol in Assertiveness Coaching:<\/b><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you observe yourself feeling guilt, shame or doubt in a certain area try to purge it by replacing those emotions with positive sentiments. Join an Assertiveness Training Course or give yourself positive daily reminders.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\n<h3><b>Quash Your Fear of Failure or Success:<\/b><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sometimes we are so filled with negative emotions that fear of failure and criticism paralyze us from stepping forward, other times, it\u2019s the fear of success and consequent attention, expectations and comments that holds us back.
