Foster Garvey Welcomes Five New Attorneys, Building on Recent Growth

Seattle, Wash. October 21, 2021 Foster Garvey, PC has welcomed five attorneys, continuing a growth streak across several practices with additions to the firm’s Public Finance & Municipal Government, Litigation and Commercial & IP Transactions teams. Joining as Of Counsel are Jennifer L. Gray and Kyle Richard, and as Associates Carrie A. Lofts, Maggie S. Sholian and Emily H. Hazen.

An experienced financial services litigator, Jennifer L. Gray represents banks, investors, originators, loan servicers and other institutions in federal and state court litigation. She routinely defends clients in consumer class actions, as well as individual actions asserting violations of state and federal consumer protections laws. She was most recently a partner at Hinshaw in Los Angeles.

Kyle Richard, formerly Associate Corporate Counsel for the University of Washington Division of the Attorney General’s Office, has joined the firm in its Seattle office. Richard, who served as in-house counsel to the university’s three campuses, brings well-rounded experience and in-depth knowledge of legal compliance, tax policy and corporate transactions to the firm’s Public Finance & Municipal Government and Tax teams.

Carrie A. Lofts has joined the firm’s Spokane office as an associate, bringing a unique blend of diverse experience in real estate, business and corporate practice, and intellectual property. She joins from Witherspoon Kelly where she has been an active member of both the Washington State Bar Association and Spokane County Bar Association.

Maggie S. Sholian further bolsters Foster Garvey’s sophisticated Litigation team in Seattle. Formerly a trial attorney within the U.S. Department of Justice’s Tax Division, Margaret brings extensive litigation and dispute resolution experience to bear for clients. Prior to the Department of Justice, Margaret serviced as a law clerk to the Honorable Stanley A. Bastian in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Washington.

With her broad range of corporate and transactional experience, Associate Emily H. Hazen also adds to the firm’s dynamic and growing practice in Spokane. She most recently was an associate attorney at Witherspoon Kelly where she focused on structuring transactions and related complex analysis. Hazen graduated summa cum laude from Gonzaga University School of Law, and holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Gonzaga University School of Business.
