Fans of a good romantic drama are no doubt counting down the days until the latest installment of the After film franchise.

The first installment – After – premiered back in 2019 and was followed with After We Collided, directed by Roger Kumble. Since then, many have been keen to reunite with Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Joesphine Langford’s Tessa and Hardin.

So, let’s consider where to watch After We Fell when the release date rolls around…

Where to watch After We Fell: Will it be in cinemas or streaming?

After We Collided is scheduled to be released in US theaters on Thursday, September 30th 2021.

As of yet, no US streaming information has been confirmed, so cinemas are the place to be if you’re eager to see it upon initial release. Be sure to check on the website of your local multiplex for screenings closer to the time.

In the UK, on the other hand, no release date has been clarified. However, unlike in the US, it will be going straight to Amazon Prime Video. It’s likely that a date will be confirmed soon now that the film has begun premiering.

Back in April, the official After We Fell Twitter page added a poster with a list of premiere dates; the first on the list is Italy on Wednesday, September 1st, 2021.

Although, it’s worth mentioning that they added: “Due to COVID guidelines some dates may change. For those countries that are listed as TBA, our local partners are still planning, we know it’s hard, but please be patient!”

With this in mind, some of the dates may have been altered since.

If you’re curious to know what to expect now that you know where to watch After We Fell, you’re in luck.

As you may already be aware, the After films are based on Anna Todd’s novel series of the same name.

In this latest entry, we will continue right where we left off, with Tessa getting to know her estranged father. It’s sure to be a dramatic chapter in the story, with the source material’s summary reading:

That’s how the summary begins, but rather than delving deeper, we’ll aim to avoid any potential spoilers. If you are interested in reading the remainder of the summary you can do so here.

As you’d expect, the two leads are reprising their roles and a number of actors from the previous films will return.

However, Cosmopolitan highlights that there were actually some changes to the cast in response to COVID-19. With the pandemic plaguing production, the filming location was changed from the US to Bulgaria and this facilitated some casting issues.

Tackling the issue, a number of characters were recast.

For example, Chance Perdomo has replaced Shane Paul McGhie as Landon and Stephen Moyer has taken over from Charlie Weber in the part of Christian Vance. Additionally, Selma Blair’s Carol is now portrayed by Mira Sorvino.

After We Fell arrives in theaters on Thursday, September 30th 2021.

After We Fell release date, cast, trailer and everything you need to know

Tessa and Hardin are back! After We Fell has already arrived in certain countries of the world, but UK and US fans of the After series are among those who still have to wait to see what happens next with Tessa and Hardin.

The third movie picks up from After We Collided which saw the couple split up and a potential new love interest for Tessa arrive on the scene in the form of Trevor.

By the end, it seemed as though they had patched things up, but will the arrival of Tessa’s father mix things up again? Could we even see Trevor win Tessa over as we saw him practising to ask her out in the movie’s credits scene?

After We Fell has a lot to deal with, so if you’re still waiting for the answers, here’s everything you need to know about the third movie in the After series.

After 3 release date: When will After We Fell be released?

As mentioned above, After We Fell has already been released in the likes of Canada and Mexico, but its US release isn’t too far away.

The movie will get special screenings on September 30 and October 4 in US cinemas, and we imagine that if those screenings prove popular, they won’t be the only big-screen outings for After We Fell.

In the UK, it’s been confirmed that the third movie will be skipping cinemas in the UK and will instead debut on Amazon Prime Video, with Amazon also releasing the movie in France too.

After We Fell will arrive on Amazon Prime Video on October 22, so it’s a bit of a wait after the US, but at least we know it’s coming out for sure. Amazon will also release the fourth movie, After Ever Happy, in the UK and France.

After Ever Happy filmed at the same time as After We Fell, so there might not be a long wait for the fourth movie. A release date has yet to be confirmed though, but we do know it’ll be followed by a prequel movie and a sequel movie.

After We Fell and After Ever Happy director Castille Landon will write and direct the two new movies, with the prequel focusing on a younger Hardin (loosely based on Anna Todd’s Before) and the sequel centred on Tessa and Hardin’s children (spoiler alert, sorry).

After 3 cast: Who’s coming back in After We Fell?

Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin will, of course, be back as Tessa and Hardin, but there has been some enforced cast changes.

As a result of scheduling conflicts and the decision to move filming to Bulgaria, Shane Paul McGhie (Landon), Stefan Rollins (Richard Young), Karimah Westbrook (Karen), Charlie Weber (Christian), Candice King (Kimberly) and Selma Blair (Carol Young) haven’t returned.

Their roles have been recast with Chance Perdomo (Landon), Atanas Srebrev (Richard Young), Frances Turner (Karen), Stephen Moyer (Christian), Arielle Kebbel (Kimberly) and Mira Sorvino (Carol Young).

After We Fell will also star Fear Street’s Kiana Madeira as Nora, Louise Lombard as Trish, Rob Estes as Ken, Carter Jenkins as Robert, Angela Sari as Lillian and Anton Kottas as Smith Vance.

Since After Ever Happy filmed at the same time as After We Fell, we can expect everybody back for the fourth movie, which is set to be the final outing for Langford and Tiffin as Tessa and Hardin.

Even though there will be two further movies in the After series, the duo won’t reprise their roles as Hardin will be younger in the prequel and the pair will be older for the planned sequel.

“It is sad, because it feels like the end of an era. All these people that you’ve worked with and this character that you’re now so familiar with, it’s coming to an end,” said Langford of filming the final two movies while speaking to Seventeen.

“But it has to end, because you need that ending. Otherwise, there’s gonna be a lot of people feeling very unsatisfied. It’s such a really nice privilege to be able to bring a character’s arc and that story to completion.”

After 3 trailer: Watch the After We Fell trailer here!

If you missed it above, you can watch the trailer for After We Fell below which teases the romantic drama in store for Tessa and Hardin.

As for what Landon is excited for fans to see in the third movie, it’s the more emotional scenes that see “Hero and Jo turning in these amazing performances, and all of the cast really”.

“There’s some really great stuff with Hardin’s dad that I didn’t expect to be as poignant as it was, because the actors did such a good job,” she told Teen Vogue.

After 3 plot: What is After We Fell about?

If the trailer above and the second movie didn’t get you excited enough for the third movie, here’s the official synopsis to add to the hype:

“After We Fell finds Tessa starting an exciting new chapter of her life but as she prepares to move to Seattle for her dream job, Hardin’s jealousy and unpredictable behavior reach a fever pitch and threaten to end their intense relationship,” it reads.

“Their situation grows more complicated when Tessa’s father returns and shocking revelations about Hardin’s family come to light. Ultimately, Tessa and Hardin must decide if their love is worth fighting for or if it’s time to go their separate ways.”

After We Fell is released in US cinemas on September 30 and on Amazon Prime Video in the UK on October 22.
